Some people say the only reason that Jasper got into photography was because he liked seeing himself in pictures. Those people would be right. Ever since he was a little kid in elementary school, Jasper Cox would crawl, kick, and shove his way into the front of every class picture. He would never deny someone who wanted to snap a shot of him, no matter what he was doing or what he looked like at the time. It's a wonder that he actually ended up on the other side of a camera. Jasper wasn't exactly a natural at photography, but he worked pretty damn hard to be good at it. Nowadays he uses it as a way to earn a little extra cash, and also earn himself a rep. He's done well in getting himself known around the scene; Jasper is loved by many, and hated by more. He doesn't carry his camera everywhere he goes, and he's not obsessed with photography, but he does a good job and he enjoys taking pictures of people. But taking pictures of Faceless (the band he mainly works for) isn't Jasper's only source of income. He's also a barista at the Starbucks located right next to Shockfest, which is luckily opened 24 hours for all the scene kids who need a little pick-me-up after a show. It's a fitting job for the guy, since he's been drinking coffee ever since he was ten and moved in with his older brother.

That brings us back to the beginning; Jasper's childhood. The first few years of his life were pretty normal, at least as normal as growing up in New York City can be. He had his parents, as well as an older brother named Cliff who was born fifteen years before him. They weren't really close growing up due to the wide age gap, but they got much closer after their mother died of lung cancer when Jasper was only seven. The family was devastated, but managed to pull together and get through it. Cliff had already moved out by that time, and was living on his own in Williamsburg. The next couple years were rocky for Jasper, as his father was an investment banker who never seemed to be home for long periods of time. Then he was offered a promotion, one that came with a string attached; he would have to move to London. Knowing that he couldn't very well bring Jasper with him, it was decided that Jasper would move in with Cliff. They were both a little skeptical about it at first, but everything managed to go smoothly. Cliff was oblivious to Jasper's sneaking out late and the antics he got up to at Shockfest, and that's just how Jasper liked it.

Only recently did Jasper move out on his own, renting a place not too far from his brother, but also a much shabbier apartment than Cliff lived in. Jasper doesn't mind, since it's his and no one elses. He spends his days and nights in a haze of working, smoking, partying, and somehow finding his way back home each night. Or at least to someone else's home. These days, Jasper doesn't have relationships with people. He hasn't had a stable relationship, or life for that matter, ever since his last boyfriend broke up with him six months ago. Daniel had told him that it was because he wanted to focus on his band, A Plane Crash in London, and trying to be successful with them. Jasper could only laugh ruefully when he found out a few months later that the band had broken up. He hasn't really spoken to Daniel since then, and doesn't really want to either. He's fine ignoring his downward spiraling life and pretending like it's everything he's ever wanted.
